FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

If your question isn't here, email help@tolle.io and we'll answer it directly — and probably add it to this page.

Is Tolle really free?

Yes. There is no subscription, no trial that converts into a charge, and no premium tier you're being funneled toward. The app is supported by ads shown inside the app itself. Our Privacy Policy explains how advertising works in detail.

Do I need an account?

No. Tolle works without any registration — no email, no phone number, no password. Install the app and tap Connect.

Do you log what I do online?

We do not log your browsing history, the websites you visit, or the content of your traffic. The app needs some basic operational data to function and shows third-party ads, which involve their own limited data practices — all of it is spelled out plainly in the Privacy Policy.

Why do I see ads?

Ads are how the service stays free. Running VPN servers costs money; ads inside the app cover it so you don't have to.

Will a VPN slow down my internet?

Encryption and the extra hop through a server add some overhead, so a slight speed reduction is normal. For the best speed, use auto-select or pick a server geographically close to you.

Is using a VPN legal?

In most countries, yes — VPNs are ordinary privacy tools used by businesses and individuals every day. A few countries restrict or regulate VPN use, and it's your responsibility to know the rules where you live. Using Tolle for illegal activity is prohibited under our Terms of Service regardless of where you are.

Which devices are supported?

Android phones and tablets, via Google Play. Tolle uses Android's built-in VPN service, so no root access is needed.

A website or app isn't working while connected. What do I do?

Try switching to a different server location, or disconnect and reconnect. Some services actively block traffic from known VPN addresses; changing location usually helps. If a problem persists, contact support with the app or site name.

Does Tolle drain my battery?

The VPN service uses some battery while connected, like any always-on network feature. If you only need protection sometimes — say, on public Wi-Fi — disconnect when you're done.

How do I uninstall Tolle?

Disconnect first, then remove the app the normal way: long-press the icon and choose Uninstall, or remove it from Google Play. Android automatically deletes the VPN configuration with the app.

How do I contact you?

Email help@tolle.io — it goes straight to the team. There's more detail on the Support page.
